It felt fortuitous that my @hunchbackgallery merch arrived right around the same time that I found out these two paintings were accepted into their next show, “This is a Sign,” so here’s a pic that features both! Can’t wait for this show. Hope to see you there! “Superette”, 16x20”, acrylic on canvas, 2026. “Little full. Lotta sap.” 😉 I really loved having the rare chance to just sit outside today and do a little plein air acrylic sketch of what will probably be our last maple sap boiling day of the season. 🍁 8x10”, acrylic on canvas, 2026. Work in progress. One of my favorite old signs that I frequently pass by. I love everything about it—the painted, rusted post, the frosted glass on one side and open air on the other, the variation in the remaining (or not) lightbulbs—and, on this particular day, the Simpson-esque blue sky with the most perfect fluffy white cumulous clouds as a backdrop. Today feels like spring! 🤩 It’s so warm on the porch, the sunlight is streaming through the windows, and today I would love to just stay and paint rather than go to work. 😆 But the warmth today is a lovely preview to all of the warm, sunny days ahead when I can get back to some studio time on the porch in regular intervals. Have a great day, friends. Here’s the full lineup! ☀️ Three little paintings marking the progression of the morning sun throughout the winter months as we slowly inch closer to spring. “March Morning Sun”, 6x6”, acrylic on canvas, 2026. The final installment of this little series, marking the progression of the morning sun as we move from winter to spring. “February Sunrise”, 6x6”, acrylic on canvas, 2026. The second of three in this series, this sunrise painting is based on a photograph taken by my neighbor. I loved the eerie red glow and the geometry of the silhouetted branches.
